Thanks to the 40° BOLOGNA MINERAL SHOW
Dear all,
with this letter we’d like to thank you for the enthusiasm with which you have contributed to the success of the 40th Bologna Mineral Show. An event that, despite bad weather and logistical problems due mainly to a really big public attendance, ended up with success and satisfaction of all parties involved, registering 40% more visitors than the previous edition.
For the organizer Bologna Mineral Service – and for the team of Sicomunica, who took care of the communication and marketing strategy – the uncertainty generated by the crisis of the global market, which has just seen suffering even the most important show of the sector in the whole world in Tucson, Arizona, as well as by the shift to a new location, which in the past caused a considerable loss of public even at the Mineralientage of Munich, Germany, have resulted in an attendance of visitors exceeding all expectations. We have tried to offer the best reception possible, providing a free shuttle service that, given the consistency of the request, has been tripled on the days of Saturday and Sunday, and furthermore providing a free parking lot of 18,000 sqm, which was quickly occupied by the visitors’ vehicles, thus pushing us to use also a further parking area nearby and to reorganize in a short time the logistics and hospitality system. The choice of the Nasicae Center was certainly courageous, since it’s not a fair district but an Event Site, nonetheless we truly hope that the use of a well organised large green space has given this show the dimension of a large event to be enjoyed in more than one way, and not just the dimension of a great exhibition market. The team of Sicomunica thanks all visitors who were kind enough to fill out the registration form at the entrance, which had been originally prepared as compulsory with the aim of improving our services for the next Show, and was later transformed to optional in order to fulfil the requests of those visitors who accepted it with discomfort. We thank all Authorities, Institutions, Sponsors and Partners of the show, who with their commitment and involvement made possible the transformation of an exhibition market – certainly already well known and visited – in a real event. Unfortunately, the momentary blackout that have caused discomfort to the exhibitors in the red hall on Friday was certainly an unlucky accident far beyond our control. We took care to solve the problem as quickly as possible and to accommodate the discontent of the persons concerned, even if the cause of the problem was actually mainly the weather. Of course we are sorry for what happened, but we nonetheless believe that the organization has demonstrated its solidarity in many ways and occasions: therefore we hope that this fortieth edition will be remembered with the sunny days of Saturday and Sunday, when the sun warmed the gardens of the Nasicae Center and finally allowed all of us to enjoy a weekend combining the common interest for the world of mineralogy with the pleasure of an open space and green areas with 5 restaurants, 14 toilets and several sitting groups.
