BOLOGNA MINERAL SHOW ARRIVES TO THE FUTURSTATION

The Bologna Mineral Show will start the 2010 giving to all of its participants, visitors and expositors a new prestigous location. It is confident for the increasing of the 40% public affluence registered in the 2009 for the 40th edition, a double success if you consider the decreasing of the participation registered in the other international mineralogical manifestations.

The kermesse is moving out from the green Nasicae center of Castenaso, which is the place of the forty-year celebration, to the Palazzo dello Sport, Futurshow Station nowadays, one of the biggest indoor sportive structure in Italy, located at Casalecchio di Reno, Bologna. All of this was done in the intent of valorize constancy and fidelity of its public.

Located in a strategical position, easy to reach from the principal highways (the Casalecchio’s tollgate, junction of the A1, A13 and A14 is 2 kilometers from there), the structure is in the center of a commercial site very crowded which includes megastores such as IKEA, Leroy Merlin, UniEuro and the Shopville Gran Reno – Carrefour.

It has many parking lots, up to 3000. Excently served even by the public transports.

A train station (reachable in 20 minutes from the Bologna main train station) is ubicated in the internal area of 71.000 mq owned by the structure. Projected by the architect Mauro Checcoli, olimpic champion, has a 12.000 mq surface and a 30 meters height. The indoor is one indipendent volume and its arena is 120x45 meters, so that is possible to prepare variable spaces tank to the mobility of the stands. A structure up to the biggest and most modern buildings in the world, capable to host, besides sportive international events, musical events, expositions, congresses, cultural manifestations, television sets, etc. with changeable insides until it reaches a capacity of 18.000 people.

The plant hosted the basketball games of the two main teams of Bologna, Fortitudo and Virtus, until it became home of the Virtus Pallacanestro Bologna, most winning and contested team of the italian and european basketball.

It is not the only and principal activity of this plant the basketball: the Futurshow Station is in fact known for having hosted the most important singers and bands of the International musical and theatrical panorama, and from the 26th of March 2010 will became the new center of the most attended mineralogical manifestation in Italy.
